Study Suggestions and Homework Tips

A minimum of 30 minutes study time an evening is recommended for third graders.  Try to set aside the same time each night, if possible.  Even if your child has no other homework, here are some suggested activities for him or her to do:
*Study Spelling Words
*Review Vocabulary and/or Sight Words
*Work on Basic Math Facts
*Write in a Journal
*Read a Book

Try to choose a quiet, private place free from excessive noise and other distractions so your child can work uninterrupted.
Make sure the study area is well lit and has all the supplies needed such as pencils, paper, ruler, dictionary, etc.
Carefully check over all completed assignments.
Make sure your child is using the daily assignment book to help organize work for every subject, every day.
Help your son or daughter start developing good study habits now.  Encourage him or her to follow these guidelines.
